Our society is so reliant on types of entertainment because we are incapable of creating it for ourselves . This is where marketing takes over our lives. One of the many different types of entertainment is movies. Movies overall is such a vague terms that covers hundreds of types of genres ranging from your normal chick flick to your favorite intense horror movie. In my perspective, movies are just longer versions of a TV show. This is just the start of marketing strategies used by production companies all to make the box office for their movie.
Movies are created nearly a year prior to them releasing a trailer. The trailer that builds the plot of the show and gets the audience excited about it coming out. This is purely just the start of a movie. Advertising in commercials, billboards, and sponsorships are vital for a movie to be exposed to the public eye. Next thing you know, the movie comes out in a few days, and it is only shown in certain movie theaters so that you, your family, or your friends will go and spend the money on popcorn, candy, soda ect. to fulfill the hype presented by the movie and their producers.
An example of this is the new Avengers Endgame movie. The very last avengers movie, they say. Behind the scenes of this 3 hour and 20 minute movie, is the amount of money being brought in by advertisement, spoilers, merchandise, and theaters showing this film that is nearly taking the world by storm. This targets nearly all of humanity because it is meant for all ages and all families for a sequel that has been going forward for years. In this last week, so many people have come up to me and asked me if I have seen this movie, and since I havnt, it has only created a desire for me to go spend my money and watch it some way.
